Whether you’re flying around the world, across the UK, or cruising to your favourite destination from a UK Port, Omega Oxygen can supply an Oxygen Concentrator, either Pulse Dose or Constant Flow, or even mains operated to suit the needs of all Oxygen Dependant Travellers. We can supply oxygen to you, worldwide.
With over 25 years’ experience in the Travel and Oxygen Industries our Staff are well qualified to answer all of your questions, offer you travel support and take care of your needs when it comes to travelling with oxygen.
If you’re travelling by air, we will make sure you have enough battery duration for your flight, and that you have the correct machine for your needs, all of our POC Oxygen Concentrators are FAA approved, so you needn’t worry about boarding the plane, we will give you all the information you need ahead of your trip to ensure your all good to go.
Most airlines no longer allow you to take a cylinder of Oxygen on board the flight, some will still allow you to use their oxygen for a charge, please check directly with your Airline well in advance of traveling.
To hire an Oxygen Concentrator from The Oxygen Store the user must be under medical supervision and have approval from their Doctor or GP to travel, in many instances, you will already have a Fit to Fly Test (also called a Hypoxic Challange test) completed by your Respiratory Nurse.
We will need to know what your doctor or GP has prescribed flow (LPM), and we will need to ascertain whether you require a constant flow of oxygen, or whether you are suitable for a Pulse Dose Oxygen Concentrator (Portable).
If you intend to use the Oxygen Concentrator for a flight, we will ask how long the flight is, you will need to tell us the Litres Per Minute (LPM) that you have been prescribed, and allowing for delays or hold-ups calculate the battery life, and possible additional batteries you will require, most Airlines need that you have battery life for a minimum of 150% of your actual flight time.
All of our Portable Oxygen Concentrators and batteries are FAA approved, so you will have no problems using them on either an Airline or a Cruise Ship. Some Airlines only allow one portable oxygen Concentrator aboard each flight, so its important that you advise them in advance that you’re travelling with a POC, they will also ask questions about the type of POC to ensure its approved, and may also ask about the type and size of the Lithium Batteries used. Most if not all Airlines have Special Assistance Departments that will be more than happy to assist you.
